The Octiv Team - Benedict Ho
Benedict Ho, CFA
Co-Founder – Investments
A seasoned investment professional with over two decades of institutional asset management expertise.
Prior to founding Octiv, Benedict is one of the co-founder of one of the first SFC Virtual Asset Fund Manager licenses in Hong Kong. Under his leadership the firm's flagship fund has ranked Top 3 in Preqin Asia hedge fund in 2021.
Previously managed multi-billion-dollar portfolios for Sovereign Funds and major Asian banks.
Benedict is a CFA Charterholder and holds a Master's degree in Management Science and Engineering from Stanford University and Bachelor degree in Computer Engineering from University of Washington.
The Octiv Team - Calvin Lam
Calvin Lam, CFA
Co-Founder – Business Development and Partnerships
Calvin Lam brings over 20 years of experience in engineering, project management, business development, proprietary trading, and risk management. He has held leadership positions in institutional sales and trading at several prominent financial institutions.
During Covid, he spearheaded and rolled out an App Based online equities trading platform, overseeing client services, asset management, securities dealing, and risk management.
Calvin holds certifications across both the financial and technical spectrum. He is a licensed P.Eng. (Professional Engineer Ontario, Canada), a certified CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst), and FRM (Financial Risk Manager).
Calvin earned a Master of Engineering and a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Mechatronics Engineering from the University of Toronto.

Jeffrey Cheng
Co-Founder – Quantitative Trading
A veteran arbitrage trader in traditional and virtual assets.Jeffrey has 8 years of experience in cross-asset exotic risks trading at leading investment banks in London and Hong Kong. He was an XVA Trader at Societe Generale and WestLB. Prior to co-founding Octiv, he has held a leadership position at a Decentralized Exchange venture.Jeffrey holds a Master’s degree in Finance from Imperial College London and a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics with Economics from University College London.
